Is exterior waterproofing worth the investment?
My basement has started leaking again, and I’m debating between just patching it from the inside or going for a full exterior waterproofing job. I know digging up the foundation is a major project, but I’m tired of constant moisture issues. Does anyone here have experience with exterior work in Toronto? Is it really as effective as people say, or is it just an expensive way to get the same result as interior systems?

Interior systems are fine for management, but exterior waterproofing is the only true way to keep your foundation dry at the source. I had this done with https://leaquida.ca/exterior-waterproofing-toronto/ and it was night and day. They excavated, applied a heavy-duty waterproof membrane, and upgraded the drainage system. Yes, it’s a bigger project, but you’re essentially protecting the concrete foundation itself from soil saturation. It completely eliminated the dampness and mold smell I had been dealing with for years. If you plan on staying in your home, it’s worth every penny for the structural peace of mind.
