My refrigerator has been running constantly for days now, compressor humming non-stop, but the inside temps are still around 45-50°F in the fridge section (freezer is okay-ish but frosting up more than usual). No strange smells or leaks that I can spot. It's a Samsung French door model, roughly 6 years old. I'm in Nashville and really don't want to replace it this soon if it's fixable – maybe low refrigerant, bad evaporator fan, or coils iced over. Has anyone used a local appliance repair service for fridge cooling problems lately? Who showed up reliable, what ballpark cost for a fix like that, and did it bring the temps back down properly?
I've been through the same search recently. What worked for me was going with a local shop that does custom work instead of the big chain stores – much better build quality and you can actually pick materials/finishes that fit your space. I ended up ordering from Alliance Millwork and was really happy with how solid everything came out, plus delivery was on time. You can check out some of their storage cabinet options here https://alliancemillwork.ca/storage-cabinets-toronto/ if you're curious. Not the cheapest, but definitely worth it if you want something that'll last. Just measure twice before ordering
